Nairobi politician and activist Boniface Mwangi has warned Kenyans against voting in Deputy President William Ruto during the 2022 general election.
Ruto, through his city ground soldiers such as Starehe Member of Parliament Charles Kanyi (Jaguar) and his Dagoretti South counterpart John Kiarie (KJ), has been on campaign mode rallying Kenyans to back his bid to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta when he retires.
But Mwangi, who vied for Starehe parliamentary seat in the 2017 polls, has dismissed the DP as a 'thief' who should not be given a chance to lead the country.
Responding to a social media user who had asked him whether he was endorsing Ruto to take over power against the dynasties, the activist said even though he was rooting for a person from a humble background to win, the DP's 'appetite for stealing' was his major undoing.
In a post on his official Twitter account, Mwangi threw his weight behind Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana to occupy the House on the Hill upon Uhuru's retirement.
"No. I don't support thieves. @WilliamsRuto is a son of a peasant but his appetite for stealing is legendary. He believes money will buy him the presidency and l pray, hope Kenyans will reject him. I support @governorkibwana for President. #PresidentKibwana" he posted.
Although he has not declared his interest in the race to the State House, a section of Kenyans particularly on social media have already endorsed Kibwana to be Kenya's fifth Head of State.
