A lawyer on Wednesday committed suicide after he jumped from a government building in Mombasa, The Star reports.
According to the report by the publication, the 69-year-old lawyer Sammy Anyazwa, based in Mombasa, threw himself from the 10th floor of a building belonging to the government.
The deceased who was working for Anyazwa and Co-company Advocates had visited the lands office located to the said government building's 8th floor.
Mombasa OCPD Eliud Arumbi who confirmed the passing on of the lawyer said what triggered the deceased to commit suicide is not known for he did not leave behind any note before he took his own life.
He also said the lawyer had not shown any signs of stress or depression.
The deceased was rushed to Pandya hospital where he was announced dead on arrival.
Still in Mombasa, another death was recorded early in the morning hours when a soldier from the Kenya Navy based in Mtongwe, Likoni Sub-County, shot and killed a Boda Boda ride under unclear circumstances.
The Kenya Defence Forces later released a report and said the rider was an intruder.
According to the report, the rider was flagged down by the soldier but disobeyed the order, which prompted the soldier to fire at him in order to immobilize him. He however succumbed to injuries.
