A campus politician who hit the headlines sometimes this year after he alleged to be Aden Duale's son has finally 'disowned' him saying he is not his biological son.
Arafat Noor Abdullahi, a Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) student now says he was misinterpreted when he claimed the Majority Leader was his father.
"Aden Duale is not my biological father. He is my political father and mentor, so people should not misinterpret my earlier post. As a future politician, I am proud to associate myself with great politicians of our time," Arafat posted on his social media platform.
The campus student also shocked many when he disclosed that he would be vying for the topmost seat in the Kenya University Students' Association this year.
When the news of Arafat joining politics emerged, residents of Garissa county speculated that the Garissa Township had decided to mentor one of his own to succeed him when he retires from active politics in future.
As is the case with most Kenyan politicians, grooming one of their kin is a must-do thing to ensure the continuity of power and influence across the locality.
