Speaking through his YouTube channel on Sunday, Ngunyi said that the Head of State is only concerned with leaving a legacy at the end of his final term through accomplishing the Big Four Agenda.

He also said that the president is indirectly asking his deputy, William Ruto, to put politics aside for now and focus on development agenda and fulfill the manifestos they sold to Kenyans.

“What Uhuru is asking Willian Ruto is to give him space so that he can do his legacy project because Uhuru cannot do legacy project and do politics at the same time. What Uhuru is asking Ruto without asking him is to give him a break from politics,” opined the analyst.

However, he rubbished the claims that President Kenyatta has withdrawn his support from William Ruto saying that the president has neither said so nor suggested anybody to succeed him.

“Uhuru Kenyatta has not told us that he will not support William Ruto in 2022. He has not even suggested that he will support anybody else and that is a fact and to imagine that Uhuru has drawn his support from Ruto is a little bit unfair, it is a show of irresponsibility,” said Mutahi.
