Kenyans have elicited mixed reactions after Kenya and Switzerland signed an agreement to facilitate recovery of funds and property stolen and stashed abroad.
The deal was inked at State House, Nairobi when the President of the Swiss Confederation Alain Berset was welcomed by President Uhuru Kenyatta during his three-day official visit to Kenya.
The first cash to be targeted is an estimated Sh72 billion stolen and hidden in Swiss accounts through the famous Anglo-Leasing scandal.
"I'm extremely pleased that we've signed this framework. This framework will allow Switzerland to return financial assets that have been blocked for example in the Anglo-Leasing case," said Berset.
The development, however, was not welcomed by a section of citizens who took to social media to advise President Uhuru to abandon the move arguing it was a 'waste of time'.
On the other side, other Kenyans termed the initiative as a noble course.
Here are some reactions as expressed by netizens.
Eboyi Majani posted: "Unless you revisit the corrupt, rotten and biased Judiciary, you are in for rude shock. It seems the corrupt cartels with billions at the disposal have the Judiciary hostage."

"I think it's better staying there," remarked Njoro Kama.
