City lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has asked the government to make public an agreement between it and the Chinese government in order to secure a loan from the World Bank.
This follows revelations that Kenya was angling for Sh75 billion loan from the World Bank in a bod to finance President Uhuru Kenyatta's Big Four agenda.
Ahmednasir now says that the World Bank will not resist giving Kenya money but they have to meet certain conditions one of the most important being showing all the agreements between Kenya and China for all Kenya has from the Asian country.
"I think the IMF(International Monetary Fund) and World Bank will welcome Kenya with open arms once Kenya comes with a STRONG recommendation from the Trump Administration...but they will ALL insist on one condition...OPEN UP YOUR BOOKS WITH CHINA...and show us everything," reads a tweet by Ahmednasir.
In addition to disclosing the details of the deal with China, the lawyer contends that US President Donald Trump needs to recommend Kenya for the loan to be approved.
This latest development by the National Treasury comes a few weeks since Kenya got Sh250 billion of Eurobond and all this is expected to increase the public debt even much higher.
Kenya's public debt is already high at Sh5.4 trillion.
