The prosecution while opposing Maribe’s request to have her vehicle and phone released said that the journalist can only have the items after witnesses testify in the murder case.

Maribe had asked the court to order the release of her vehicle and phone after she was granted bail in Monica Kimani’s murder case.

The prosecution led by Senior Prosecution Counsel Catherine Mwaniki said that Maribe’s vehicle and the phone cannot be released now.

"The vehicle and the phone in question are undergoing forensic analysis," Mwaniki told Justice James Wakiaga.

Maribe and her fiance Joseph Irungu alias 'Jowie' are charged with the murder of Monica Kimani. She has however been granted Sh2 Million bond and an alternative cash bail of Sh1 Million.

Jowie, on the other hand, will remain in police remand pending the conclusion of the murder trial that starts in June 2019.
