Residents of Memisi village, Borabu in Nyamira County have picked war with Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i following the theft of four cows from the region.

The Thursday morning incident has intensified calls to have Matiang'i resign from his influential docket.

“We don’t want to be told that we have a son working as the Interior Cabinet secretary who can't even control his backyard.

"Matiang’i is has faile dto nd persistent cattle rustling. Apparently, this is even happening few meters from his home," said Innocent Moriasi.

The owner of the cows identified as Amenya said armed bandits raided his home and went straight to the cowshed untied the cows and drove them away.

“We tried to chase the thieves but in vain. They cows were driven to the neighboring Bomet county. Matiang’i should intervene for me to have my cows back,” said Amenya.

However, area police boss Michael Lesimum assured that police officers are doing everything possible to recover the cows and arrest the bandits.
