Kesses Member of Parliament Dr Swarup Mishra has warned politicians against making inciting and hateful remarks.
Mishra said such statements will increase the political temperatures in the country and disrupt the prevailing peace and harmony.
“I want to sincerely ask politicians from both the opposition and those in government to tone down on their public utterances regarding the 2022 succession politics since they will tear the country apart,” said the MP.Mishra made the remarks at Kapkoiga Girls High School on Sunday where he had gone to assess the damage caused to the institution’s store after it was torched by unknown people.Dr Mishra donated Sh500,000 as well as maize and beans to students at the school. He condemned those behind the arson attack and called for stern action to be taken against the culprits.“Nobody will choose for Kenyans who will be the next president come 2022 when President Uhuru Kenyatta terms end. It is only God who knows who will be the president. Let us not always put the country in an electioneering mood but instead focus on development,” added Mishra.On her part, Kesses Deputy County Director of Education Alice Sitienei said that the government has launched investigations into the arson attack, adding that those involved in the crime will be brought to book.
