Himmiack Nderitu is said to have developed bladder complications leading the blockage of the whole system since his birth in April 2017.

The baby aged one and a half years is now surviving on a catheter.

The baby’s single and unemployed mother Pauline Muthoni says they have been in several hospitals but the financial requirement for the operation on the young boy is unbearable.

“A scan done at Moi referral in Eldoret revealed that his urinary system is blocked and we were referred to Kenyatta National Hospital but the doctors told us the situation is beyond their address and we were referred to Aga Khan but due to family’s financial status we cannot afford the 3 million. I, therefore, call on Kenyans of good will to come to our rescue” said Muthoni.

The boy’s grandmother Mary Wanjiru says the family has gone through a lot Nderitu's illness.

According to the grandmother, life has been hard for the family because they have to buy the tube the baby uses to relieve himself at a cost of Sh111, 000 every time it wears out.

The family is now appealing to Kenyans of good will to help to fundraise Sh3 million.

“The biggest challenge is the tube that was inserted…whenever it comes out the boy is in pain and the family has to spend over Kshs 100,000 to facilitate replacement. We are therefore appealing to Kenyans to help rescue our boy” said Wanjiru.

Rev.Samuel Maina from KAG Church where the family fellowships admitted that indeed the family has gone through agony and it is high time for Kenyans to assist.

Maina noted the church has tried all it could but it has borne fewer fruits and now calls for joint interventions from all Kenyans.

“As a church, we have tried to contribute to assist the family but I must say it is high time that all Kenyans step in to rescue this boy,” said Rev.Maina.T
