NTV is set to end airing of the popular music show 'The Beat' after a 14-year partnership.
Through social media, the beat announced that the show will no longer air from the second week of August.
The Beat indicated it was yet to renew the contract, which ends in about a week, and will be moving to a new station.
“To everyone who has watched us over the last 14 years, supported us, criticized us, sent a shout out, we are happy to have been in this long journey together,” the post read.
“The show comes to an end on NTV and we moving to shape the Kenyan music industry keep it locked on our new YouTube channel and social media handles for updates,”
The show which showcases both local and international music was started by veteran DJ Pinye.
The 47-year-old started the programme after deejaying for Nation and Capital FM in the late 90s and early 2000s.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that the show will be moving to Citizen Tv.
