Deputy Governor Amos Nyaribo will have to perhaps part with his cash after a flight booked by NHIF at New Delhi failed to materialise, it has emerged.
Nyaribo, who has been out of the country for the last three months for kidney treatment in India, was scheduled to land at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Tuesday morning.
In a brief conversation, Nyaribo said NHIF had booked a plane for him but he has experienced delays since Monday evening.
"My flight was to be booked by nhif and there was delays , will confirm changes.May have to pay cash," said Nyaribo.
Last month, Nyaribo missed his uncle's funeral and a subsequent burial of his brother Robert Nyaribo who was buried early this month.
Upon returning, Nyaribo could be at loggerheads with his boss, John Nyagarama, over a pre-election pact which didn't materialise.
"He's ready and fired up. His war against cartels will not stop. The DG means well to the people of Nyamira and that's a fact," his aide Robert Tai said.
During Governor Nyagarama's absence from May to July this year, Nyaribo temporarily took charge of the county and his brief stint so many people losing jobs following an audit on workforce.
