Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiangi on Tuesday apologized to Kenyans over the recent atrocity that has hit the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).
NTSA came to ridicule and attack over the cloning of vehicles that was recently discovered after the 14 Riverside Dusit D2 terror attack in which the vehicle the terrorists used has same number plates to the one discovered at Kitengela the same day.
The Interior Cabinet Secretary regretted the situation at NTSA.
"I regret the improprieties we have been witnessing at ntsa_kenya, most recently, the cloning of car number plates and irregular registration of vehicles," admitted Matiang'i.
The CS has been an outstanding state officer winning accolades for his bravery which witnessed a quick move of apprehending some NTSA officials who were arraigned in court in connection with the cloning of number plates.
The vice had been blamed to have aided in the DusitD2 attack which left 21 people dead and many others with injuries.
The CS reaffirmed that they are working close to regain the trust of Kenyans by provision of transparent and first class services.
He said after meeting the Executive Management of the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).
"I met the executive management of the agency to reaffirm our commitment to regaining Kenyans' trust through transparency and first-class services," confirmed Matiang'i.
