This comes amid Obado's opposition of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) direct nomination of the former Cabinet Minister for the looming by-election, automatically rendering the two political enemies.

But though a good political chance to bash the Governor, Ayacko has remained silent on Obado's implication in the killing of the Rongo University student, most likely to prove him wrong.

With Obado's reportedly backing Ayacko's rival Eddy Oketch, Ayacko is silent as he doesn't want to seem to be using the ongoing murder probe to get back at the Governor and wants to prove his might by winning without mentioning Obado's name.

The former Rongo parliamentarian is also very busy with his campaigns, with the poll only a few weeks away, and wouldn't want to waste any time in attacks and counter attacks with the Governor's camp.

As an experienced leader and a hopeful who does not want to spoil his winning chances, he has realized that the issue is an emotional one and should be handled with care.

Ayacko is well aware that to be on the safer side, he is better off outside the debate.

By bashing the Governor who also enjoys a massive backing in the region, he will have offended his (Obado's) supporters whose votes he will need to guarantee his win as the third Senator of Migori.

Further, he enjoys the backing of the entire ODM brigade, led by area political don Raila Odinga, making Obado's opposition nothing to worry about and, therefore, sees no need to go attacking him over the murder.

The seat fell vacant following the demise of its former holder, Ben Oluoch Okello, with the by-election slated for October 8.
