Speaking on Sunday, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) MP also rubbished claims that the ODM chief has joined the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led political outfit.

Oundo said that Raila has never been part of the Jubilee Party and is very much unlikely to do the same as he leads a successful block which he cannot leave to be a guest in another.

"Raila ni kiongozi wetu katika upinzani na chama cha chungwa. Sidhani kama anaweza kujiunga na Jubilee. Sisi sote tuko katika upinzani kudumu na hatutoki. (Raila is the ODM leader and I don't think he can join Jubilee. We are all in the opposition to stay)," he said.

Oundo was speaking on Radio Citizen's Debe La Citizen political show on Sunday evening.

Raila has found himself under sharp scrutiny by Ruto's camp regarding his role in the government following his last year's truce with President Uhuru.

Consequently, he has been seen to be very close to the President, leading to Deputy President William Ruto's camp arguing that the former premier has some ill plans regarding Ruto's presidential plans.

However, Raila has since made it clear his March 9, 2019 pact with Uhuru has no political motive and is instead aimed at enhancing the war on corruption and national cohesion.
