Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua has hit out at the immediate former Taita Taveta Woman Representative Joyce Lay for pushing for the amendment of the constitution to ensure President Uhuru Kenyatta runs for another term.
In a tweet, Karua said that the term limit for the President was adopted to give Kenyans room to taste different forms of leadership.
She argued that there are many leaders in this nation and that one cannot afford to cling to power.
Karua also said that the two terms are enough for the President to accomplish his agenda and pave way for another leader to assume office as well.
"Term limit is a deliberate measure to enable a country sample its diversity in leadership and talents. Anything less is an assault on democracy!' she tweeted on Saturday.
Joyce Lay in a tweet said: "I want to push for an amendment to have H.E Uhuru Kenyatta run for another term as the President of this country. Kenya is safer with him than anyone else. He means well but People are bitter and they speak so negative about the President. Do we really want to change?"
