Controversial businesswoman Joyce Akinyi was on Saturday arrested at Nairobi West while in possession of 2kg heroin along with a Congolese man.
The two are currently locked at Muthaiga Police Station awaiting to be arraigned in court on Monday. The heroin is worth Sh3 million according to sleuths.
It is the third time Ms Akinyi is being arrested. In 2015, she was arrested with three others over drug trafficking but would later be released.
Two years earlier, she was arrested with Budalang'i MP Raphael Wanjala along Namanga border with suspected heroin but they denied, arguing that they were carrying maize flour.
In 2008, the two were arrested in India with millions of shillings. The Kenyan embassy had to intervene to have them released. The money was estimated at Sh600 million.
She first came into public limelight in 2008 when she fought with her Nigerian boyfriend Antony Chinedu after a slight disagreement.
