In a tweet on Thursday, Dida argued that the assembly's decision to impeach Waititu was against the will of residents, who knowingly elected him governor.

He argued that Kiambu residents woke up very early in the morning to elect Waititu, therefore he deserves to complete his term before he is removed from office.

"The Senate should save Waititu and let him finish his term. Kiambu voters knowingly went to the ballot and in their right state of mind, voted for Waititu. It is not right to deny them the full five years of suffering," he tweeted.

The governor's woes deepened on Thursday after 63 Kiambu Ward Representatives voted in support of the impeachment motion, 28 were absent during the session.

Only Kiambu Township Ward Representative Anthony Ikonya voted against the impeachment motion.

The County Assembly Speaker Stephen Ndichu was forced to kick him out of the floor of the house for being unruly.
