Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have nabbed three suspects accused of robbery with violence, rape and defilement.
The trio identified as; Benson Murunga Bahati, Brian Sore and Austin Muhambe Makong’o were arrested on Sunday in Kakamega, and a number of stolen items recovered.
Some of recovered items included; National ID cards, a TV decoder and a mobile phone that are believed to have been stolen from members of the public.
Three suspects forensically linked to a series of reported cases of robbery with violence, rape and defilement cases in Kakamega County were early today arrested by DCI Detectives from the HQs. The suspects remain in lawful custody awaiting more police action as further investigations follow," DCI posted on Twitter.
Over the past few months, DCI detectives have been on high alert and keen to ensure the country is weeded of criminals and any criminal activities.
The agency has in the past recovered millions of fake currency, illicit liquor and drugs, and arrested persons believed to be engaged in illegal activities across the country.
In addition, DCI has been in the fore front in investigating corruption cases that have seen senior government officials arrested and arraigned in court.
