Kandara MP Alice Wahome has dismissed claims that Deputy President William Ruto is disrespecting President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking during an interview with NTV's AM Live on Monday, Wahome said that Ruto has the freedom to speak his mind at all times.
She argued that DP Ruto is not an appointee of the President. The lawmaker alluded that Ruto can choose what to do at his own volition and should not be intimidated at all.
“Those people who are saying that the Deputy President is disrespecting the President because of speaking his mind have forgotten that the Deputy President is not an appointee of the President," she said.
On the BBI report, she said that she thought that the process appeared to be good until ODM leader Raila Odinga’s camp hijacked it.
She lamented that Kenyans have nothing to smile about as far as the report is concerned. She insisted that most Kenyans feel they have not been included in the report and they are not ready to back the same.
“At the beginning of the BBI, the thought may have been good but the execution has become completely disastrous because there are people saying they don’t feel included,” she said.
