Petroleum and Mining Chief Administrative Secretary John Morangi has told off Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i's critics.
On Tuesday, Mr Morangi who spoke at Ekerenyo grounds after the official launch of Huduma Namba, said Matiang'i should not be dragged into politics.
He asked politicians to spare the Interior Minister from politics, adding that he's busy serving Kenyans.
"I want to urge critics to keep off Matiang'i because he may lose focus in his roles. Matiang'i should not be linked to politics in either Nyamira or Kisii counties," he said.
Mr Morangi challenged local leaders to support Matiang'i instead.
The CAS claimed that those trying to force Matiang'i to join politics, have a hidden agenda which won't work.
"Matiang'i should not be forced to enter politics because he is serving Kenyans better than being a politician. All he needs is the community support for him to deliver and meet the expectations of all Kenyans," he added.
Mr Morangi further urged Nyamira residents to turn up in large numbers and list for Huduma Namba.
He challenged elected leaders from Gusii region to join hands together and work as a team.
