Going by the silence that now permeates the country, it is certain to say Jubilee has restrained most of the vocal Members of Parliament from Central Kenya, President Uhuru Kenyatta's political turf.
Over a time, there has been this false narrative that the Kikuyu community owed DP Ruto for having helped their 'son' to ascend to power twice, first in 2013 and again in 2017.
However, as events have proven, the last person to trust is a politician. One must always be anxious to cross-check what politicians say just to be sure. And, knowing as Kenyans do that nothing a politician does is for altruistic reasons, it is highly doubtful that the politicians from Central Kenya propagating the 'debt' narrative actually believe their side of the story.
For them, it is thinking ahead, trying to determine which side of the bread will be buttered and ensuring that they will be in a position to get the slices when the right time comes. But doing so, the loud politicians forgot that parties that sponsored them to Parliament call the shots, especially when the party leader actually finances the party.
The Central MPs were unknowingly undermining Uhuru's legacy in their quest for personal gain.
Probably Jubilee pulled them aside, put them back in the line, and asked them to make a choice. They are suddenly quiet and no longer accompany the DP in his tours across the country.
