Joshua Kemboi, a 24-year-old resident of Kesses area in Uasin Gishu county is the talk of the village following a huge sum of money he earns from his welding business.
Kemboi who dropped out of school in form one revealed how he ended up engaging in welding business which has significantly changed his living standard.
"I dropped out in form one in term three in 2010 after my parents lacked school fees and the only option was to seek for a job. My uncle called me to be his helper in his welding workshop in Kesses," said Kemboi.
After his five good years of perseverance, Kemboi finally opened his own welding workshop also in Kesses with the savings he had made.
"I had to work for five years with my uncle and luckily in 2015 I opened my own welding workshop in Kesses where I used Sh250,000 I had saved," said Kemboi.
Kemboi's welding business did so well that after two years, he opened another welding workshop in Eldoret town, a close proximity to many customers.
He then secured contracts with secondary schools and some of the universities to which he supplies and repairs broken metal chairs, tables, doors and windows.
"My welding business did well in Kesses and I decided to secure business premise in Eldoret town and installed another three welding machines, with the fact that I have contracts with some institutions I make between Sh180,000 to Sh200,000 every end month," Kemboi said happily.
He now plans to expand his business by buying more welding machines even as he seeks to help his parents in paying fees for his siblings.
