Kiala said he accepted the people's decision in the last polls.

"People are asking why I am silent, they think I have a grudge against them for failing to elect me. No, I'm okay. I accepted and moved on," Kiala said.

He addressed mourners during a burial ceremony in Kangundo, Machakos County on Wednesday.

Kiala asked Machakos residents to support the elected leaders in their quest to serve them.

He said those in leadership should be given ample time to deliver their promises stating that 2022 elections is still far.

"Those in leadership should be supported and given time to deliver, it's still early to determine their track records. Remember we voted for them because of their manifesto, we still have four years to determine their leadership," Kiala added.

Kiala blamed the current high cost of living to the increased rate of corruption in the country.

"Graft is eating this country, it is the cause of Kenyans predicaments. Corruption cases should be solved and the money recovered," Kiala said.
