On Monday and Tuesday, the country was on high alert and online mobilization of two missing persons, Billian Ojiwa and Caroline Mwatha was The trend of the day.
Billian is a politician and founder of "Ficha Uchi" initiative while Caroline was a Dandora-based human activist, both were at youthful years.
The nature of their work made people raise question marks, naturally, to the police, many thinking its a case of extrajudicial killing.
The two missing persons had two different outcomes, Billian resurfaced safe and sound, while activist Caroline was unfortunately found dead.
Mr Billian Ojiwa after he resurfaced, no report has been released of any malicious occurrence that led to his disappearance, hence it's easy to conclude he was aware of what he was doing and no one is to be blamed for his disappearance.
On the other hand, Mrs Caroline, whose fate ended in her body being found at city mortuary, police reports indicate she died trying to abort her 5-month-old pregnancy.
Well, it's good to report a case of a missing person but the lesson from the two cases above is not to make early conclusions.
Many people suspected that a malicious motive was behind their disappearance.
Many consciously or subconsciously started blaming the government or police but I think we should know there is just much police can do but some things are out of their hands.
Another lesson is; as much as the two were activists, we should not forget they are human beings too.
They get challenges just like any other person and the unfortunate happenings should not necessarily mean someone else is responsible.
Last but not least, we should share our challenges with people we trust, we should try to seek second opinions on life-defining decisions we want to make.
At least tell people close to you of your whereabouts and avoid just going missing when nothing has really happened, this raises an alarm for nothing.
