An Administration Police officer has been arrested after he was reportedly nabbed in lodging with a female student.
The two were arrested in Kilgoris, Nandi county on Tuesday night, shortly after checking in.
The officer, Patrick Mwendo, allegedly booked a room at a local bar on Tuesday night where he intended to spend the night with the girl.
This came shortly after the girl who is a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidate at Sankale Secondary School had finished her exams for the day.
Confirming the incident, Trans Mara Deputy County Commissioner Mohammed Noor Hassan said that the girl would be allowed to sit her remaining exams.
He added that the officers had established plans to ensure that her remaining papers are not disrupted, reports the Citizen Digital.
However, he noted that the owner of the bar might have his business license revoked for admitting a student.
He further called upon chiefs to be on the alert in a bid to curb the teenage pregnancy menace which has been heavily reported among girls in the ongoing exams.
He urged the administrators to address the issue with the needed seriousness. The exams which began on October 30 will run for a month.
