President Uhuru Kenyatta has employed more journalists to boost his Presidential Delivery Unit (PDU) as he moves to leave a legacy in his second term.
PDU is mandated to improve the coordination of national government operations.
It also monitors, evaluates and reports on the state of key development priorities.
The latest journalists to join the president are ex- NTV reporter Laban Onserio and soft-spoken ex-business reporter at Citizen Mumbi Warui.
Also, journalist Nixon Ng’ang’a, who is known during his stint at Royal Media Services’ editorial desk, has been put on the state’s payroll.
The President pegged his legacy on the Big 4 Agenda of manufacturing, universal healthcare, affordable housing, and food security.
Questions are however being asked on whether Uhuru will be able to achieve the four in the remaining four years.
On Tuesday, the President will be meeting MPs from his party to persuade them to agree Kenyans be subjected to an 8% VAT tax on petroleum products.
This is in efforts to raise billions needed to finance the ambitious projects.
