Citizen TV’s top Swahili news anchor Lulu Hassan is no doubt a master in speaking Kiswahili.
However, not many suspected that she could speak fluently in Kikuyu.
The prime time news anchor posted a video on her Instagram account conversing in Kikuyu with Inooro TV news anchor Muthoni Wa Mukiri.
She captioned the video:
“Thikû ici ndî mbere ta mûhuko wa cati.👔 #straightoutashags.” This loosely translates to; nowadays always at the front like my shirt's pocket.
The two were chatting on how they had spent their Valentine’s Day.
Lulu, who has three children revealed that she spent her Valentine’s Day cooking for her husband Rashid Abdalla, who is her co-presenter at Citizen TV.
She also replied to comments on her wall in Kikuyu which left many of her fans mouths wide open.
This could be because her mother had Kikuyu roots. According to her family background, her mother was born to a Kikuyu and a Seychellois, while her father had Seychellois roots.
This clearly proves why she did speak fluently and even chat with fans on her wall in Kikuyu.
Here are some from her surprised fans:
“Lulu yawa unaelewa hii language..... Ndamaka,” said wambui1647.
“khai😨😨nie nîwamakia,tûgûke ritwa loulou Njeri hassan...,” said bernardos_m.
