Police are trying to establish whether the sadistic killer of Monica Kimani was after her cash that was in the house.

The Standard said one theory police pursuing in trying to unravel reasons behind the callous murder is whether the killer wanted to steal money the deceased had.

Already police have questioned a taxi man who reportedly picked Monica from the airport and dropped her at the posh estate.

The taxi man said the deceased had three heavy bags.

“This is one theory in the works. Whether the killer established she had jetted in with bags full of dollars,” police said.

There are claims also that several dollars were found by investigators in Jacque Maribe’s house where Irungu was cohabiting with the news reader.

Police could not verify the reports.

The deceased is believed to have been a millionaire and lived a flashy lifestyle.

She was rolling in Sh10 million BMW X5 on top of having purchased several prime properties in Nairobi.

And the day she was found murdered, Monica was to fly to Dubai for a vacation.
