South Rift politician and former ODM party executive director Magerer Langat has been missing in action since he lost the Kipkelion West MP seat.
There is no doubt that Magerer lost his seat for being loyal to Orange Democratic Movement party (ODM) at a time when United Republican party (URP) led by William Ruto had taken the entire Rift Valley region by a storm.
Magerer got a humiliating defeat from URP’s Jackson Rop.
Later in 2014, Magerer was forcefully ejected from ODM's meeting and he therefore had to quit the party and embark on another journey to revive his political life.
In 2016, during the hotly contested Kericho by-election, Magerer officially joined Jubilee party but he lost during the party's nominations to the current senator Aaron Cheruiyot.
During the 2017 general elections, Magerer went back to his constituency but also lost the parliamentary bid during the party's preliminaries.
Political grapevine now claim that Kericho’s Governor Prof Paul Chepkwony is endorsing Magerer to succeed him as he is serving his last term.
In November last year, Chepkwony appointed Magerer to be a member of Kericho municipal board and has since been appearing in public with the governor something political pundits have been analysing.
