The leaders have warned Kenyans not to divert their attention from development agenda citing some people are using the referendum to confuse the electorate.

Speaking at Suneka on Thursday during a rally presided by the Deputy President William Ruto, the outspoken South Mugirango Member of Parliament Sylvanus Osoro said its time for development and not voting.

"It's not time for the referendum until we are clearly told why and where we are making changes. We are not ready for the new positions, we are still burdened with the current ones.

This is the time we are focused on development. The election was over, our agenda right now is changing the lives of Citizens," He said.

His counterpart Richard Momaima Onyonka of Kitutu Chache South has called upon Kenyans to first understand the motive behind the referendum before they support it.

"We are not against the referendum but first let the propellers tell us the loopholes we need to seal. Let them come out clear and tell Kenyans why and when we should make changes. For now, our focus is on development and not going to election again," He said.

Others in attendance were Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi who echoed the sentiments, Bonchari Constituency MP Oroo Oyioka, Bomachoge Borabu Mp Zadock Ogutu, Nyaribari Masaba MP Ezekiel Machogu, Bobasi MP Innocent Obiri among the rest.
