Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has joined a growing list of Kenyans pushing for the return of lawyer Miguna Miguna who is exiled in Canada.
The barrister was blocked from returning to the country in 2018 April with authorities insisting that he did not have a valid passport.
But on Monday, Mr Sudi insisted that Miguna Miguna's rights are protected by the Constitution, adding that he should be allowed back home.
"Our constitution protects everyone's rights and freedom of both speech and expression. It is therefore inorder for Miguna Miguna to come back home," he said in a post on Facebook.
High Court in Kenya ruled in Miguna Miguna's favour, ordering the government to return his passport and facilitate his return.
On Monday, a defiant Miguna insisted that he cannot bend low to have his rights guaranteed, adding that he's protected by the Constitution.
"The RIGHTS and FREEDOMS of Kenyans enshrined and entrenched in the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 are to be ENJOYED and EXERCISED FREELY without State interference. No one can dictate to Kenyans HOW those rights and freedoms can be exercised. We will do so LAWFULLY. MOBILIZE!" Miguna Miguna posted on Facebook.
At Murang'a on Monday, President Uhuru Kenyatta hinted at allowing the controversial lawyer to jet in while insisting that he will not cajole people's freedom of speech.
