Deputy President William Ruto's allies have lifted the lid on the strategy he seeks to use to realise his 2022 presidential bid, among them being intense campaigns.

Consequently, he has divided the country into three zones; red, which is Luo Nyanza where he is sure of very little or no votes and green, which is his Rift Valley bedrock.

He also has his eyes on the battle ground zones, with the plan being to attend as many trips as possible to battle ground zones; places he is fighting for with the opposition.

“His calendar is tight until next year," said Belgut MP Nelson Koech, one of the persons in the DP's strategic team.

The other plan is to identify friendly influential friends on whose backs he seeks to ride on to achieve even more, as was revealed by former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale.

“Depending on how we mapped out the country, we have distinctive teams charged with areas of focus. The aim is to realise targeted messaging and to cover as much ground as possible in our development tours,” said Khalwale who has been deployed to deliver the Western Kenya vote.

His allies have also revealed that he is riding on the backs of friendly lobby groups, a good example being the Inua Mama group, with a vibrant youth wing dubbed 'Vijana Wa Ruto' set to be unveiled next year, in a bid to woo the youth.

Details from his allies contradict the DP's claims that he has not been engaging in early campaigns, with some revealing that he might be forced to attend up to three events a day in the near future.
