The undying love between Deputy President William Ruto and Gusii leaders has continued to raise eyebrows following his latest decision to honour another fundraising invitation.
For the last six months, Ruto has visited Kisii and Nyamira Counties a record eleven times, the highest trip made by a lead presidential candidate to the region.
And on Friday, Ruto will be chief guest at Crown Plaza Hotel in Nairobi where he will lead fund drive for Shabana FC.
The DP was engaged in serious fund raisers in Gusii region a fortnight ago where he traversed Kitutu Masaba, Nyaribari Chache, Kitutu Chache North and Bobasi constituencies.
Shabana FC is keen to increase her financial muscles to compete in National Super League next season after dramatic qualification last month where they edged out Mwatate FC in post match penelties.
Gusii leaders among them all MPs, aspirants and governors are expected to grace the occasion in which politics is expected to dominate.
Over one million people are expected to vote from Gusii region, which has for the last decade supported AU High Representative for Infrastructural Development Raila Odinga.
