Former Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has lashed at Deputy President William Ruto, accusing him of spreading propaganda due to 'desperation' ahead of 2022 elections.
Over the weekend, DP Ruto celebrated ODM loss in Ugenya and Embakasi South constituencies, claiming that he sponsored the winners without participating in campaigns.
But in a rejoinder, Mr Bosire, who doubles at ODM treasurer, said the ODM party was only battling with sibling rivalry which should be treated as an internal contest.
"ODM has not lost anything. Those spreading propaganda should be ashamed. The party was running against it's affiliates and the people made a decision. Jubilee was not in the race," he argued.
During the polls, David Ochieng'of Ugenya beat Chris Karan with his little know MDG party. In Embakasi South, Julius Mawathe vanquished Irshad Sumra, a seasoned politician.
On Ruto's influence in Gusii politics, Bosire dismissed the DP's frequent trips to the region, arguing that ODM still remains the most predominant party in the region.
"Ruto's trip are just out of frustrations. He is aware that Abagusii community will still vote ODM or it's affiliates. When the right time comes, we shall send him where he belongs," he said in a phone interview on Tuesday.
Mr Bosire has been leading anti-Ruto rallies in the region and has often accused the DP of launching ghost projects. Particularly, he has opposed construction of Bonyunyu Dam in Kitutu Masaba, arguing that due process was not followed.
