Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr has admitted that they were not at their best after they lost to Kariobangi Sharks in the Shield match played on Sunday.
For yet another season, the Kenyan Champions will not be in the finals, after they were downed 4-2 by Kariobangi Sharks in the last quarter-final match.
The Brit said the team never showed more hunger to win the match, and Sharks were worthy winners.
‘’They wanted it more than us, the team that wanted it most won it. We were second best in the entire game and they had many chances to score in both halves," he said after the match.
"This is more or less the same team that beat AFC Leopards last weekend but today we were poor, we didn't do enough to get anything from the match," he added.
The teams could not be separated in regular time, forcing the match to head to penalties.
The final result saw Gor lose 4-2, bringing back last year's memories where the team exited in the same stage of the competition.
This was the second successive match the team lost, coming hot on the heels of the loss in Algeria.
Gor won the KPL title with six matches to go but failed to advance to the quarterfinals of the Confederations Cup, after they went down 2-1 to USM Alger of Algeria last week.
