The dons have faulted the commission for failing to take into account their plight despite an agreement having been reached.

The lecturers have now issued SRC with a two-week ultimatum to honor the agreement failure to which they will have no choice but to put down their tools.

UASU Secretary General Constantine Wasonga , who addressed Maseno University dons in Kisumu yesterday, said that the commission has proven its unwillingness to settle the matter thereby pushing them to the wall.

He said that he is not happy with the way the commission has been handling the matter yet education plays a key role in the economic development of this nation.

The officials said that they will not be scared to ask dons in all the 32 public universities not to report to work if their grievances are not addressed with immediate effect to enable them discharge their duties with ease.

“The CBA ought to have been negotiated and completed in June 2016 for it to be implemented as from July 1 2017. So UASU reminds Inter-Public Universities Council Consultative Forum (IPUCCF) and SRC to honour their commitments,’’ said Dr Wasonga, as quoted by Standard.
