Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has asked foreign investors to feel free and invest in the region.
Maangi said Kisii County is a strategic and investors should not fear setting up businesses in the region.
"Foreign investors are free to set up businesses in Kisii region because we have tight security, friendly host community and favorable business environment," he said.
According to Maangi, foreigners are not restricted from setting businesses in the county and the county government will approve business proposals.
He argued that more investors in Kisii county will see several jobless youths idling in deep villages with jobs.
"Our youths will be absorbed to work in the various businesses to be set up by foreigners thus the issue of lack of jobs among othe youths will be a past tense," he said.
Maangi asked police officers to intensify security patrols across the county to flush out criminals.
The deputy governor warned county revenue collecting officers against harassing traders when collecting taxes.
"The current traders were have should not be harassed by county officers. Peaceful means should be used when collecting taxes," he added.
Maangi was speaking at the county headquarters on Friday.
