A well coordinated team of flamboyant youthful politicians is working underground to tilt moderate Nyanza region in favour of DP William Ruto.
In their master plan, the team led by South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro and youth leader Antony Kibagendi, is targeting Nyamira, Kisii and Kuria regions with an estimated voting population of 1.5 million.
The team has been entrusted with identification of projects and events which are thereafter launched by Ruto as part of his scheme to distabilize Raila.
Nominated MCA George Mosiori was reluctant to give details of operations but he however conceded of a robust campaign by Ruto to reclaim Nyanza.
"The DP is a serious contender and Nyanza is one of his target. For now we are focusing on development," he said.
Others in the team include MPs Richard Onyonka, Richard Tong'i, Joash Nyamoko, Millicent Omanga and Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi.
And insider who did not wish to be mentioned, said most of operations are run from Harambee House Annex where Ruto has assembled a team of youths overseeing his itinerary.
"We still don't have ground offices although we have recruited many youths into the team. We operate from Harambee House," he said.
Incidentally, Mr. Kibagendi, who organised Ruto's latest meeting at Tendere in Kisii, works from Harambee House Annex.
The three regions have been earmarked as swing regions based on Jubilee's impressive score in 2017 even though Raila Odinga still led in the counties.
ODM treasurer Timothy Bosire says the party will seal loopholes adding that a robust programme has been put in place.
"We understand his maneuvers and the party leader visited twice last month. We shall reveal our plan soon on how to hit back."
While virtually all MPs from Gusii supports Ruto, Governor John Nyagarama (Nyamira) and James Ongwae (Kisii) have still remained Raila's loyalists.
