Obed Nyakeruma said his wife Veronica Osebe, a mother of one found a love text message in his phone on Thursday afternoon.

"I went to the bathroom and left my phone charging without knowing my wife could interfere with it. When I finished having a bath I returned to the sitting room and found my wife with the mobile phone reading text messages," he said.

Mr. Nyakeruma said his wife demanded to know who wrote the love text message to him easily in the morning.

"I didn't notice my ex-girlfriend had sent me a love text message, in fact, I could have deleted it. I tried to explain to my wife in vain. She packed all her belongings and left with our 2-year-old son to her parents' home in Bonchari," he noted.

Area elders led by Robert Onsombi said efforts to have Osebe and Nyakeruma solve the issue didn't give fruits.

"Osebe insisted that she must go because Nyakeruma is adulterous. She threatened to commit suicide if we could force her to stay," said Onsombi.

Samuel Morira, area assistant chief, said couples should be faithful to avoid unnecessary dramas and separations.

"Adultery has caused many marriages to break. It is high time married people to be faithful," he said.
