Kipchumba Murkomen alleged that Mr.Orengo and president Uhuru have been secretly striking a political deal between ODM and Jubilee ahead of 2022.
The vocal senator who was speaking at a school fundraiser in Kericho county said that a section of ODM leaders allied to Raila Odinga have been cajoling the president to consider the ruling party having a political pact that would enable them to form the government in 2022.
Murkomen observed that Orengo's allegations of him meeting with the president were enough to signal a problem that, a handshake was working to the detriment of a section of Jubilee members.
Murkomen argued, "Orengo has stated that ODM and Jubilee, led by the president have been having secret meetings over 2022 political plans."
Orengo was quoted by standard digital saying that Jubilee and ODM had a 2022 plan that was in the offing.
Orengo said,“ODM is going for political power, and when we are holding these meetings our eyes are set on 2022. The contestation for power is going to come from a formation with ODM in it and formation of Jubilee where Uhuru Kenyatta is playing a role."
The senator noted that Orengo was trying to ensure that the president sidelines his deputy and bring in Raila, a mission they said was not going to succeed.
"In those secretive night meetings you are having, we are not going to allow you to bring disunity to our party," Murkomen told the ODM brigade.
He argued that ODM, led by Mr.Odinga, claimed cunningly to be working with the government after the handshake, whereas they have a secret goal of bringing disunity in Jubilee party and frustrating implementation of government projects.
