An Isuzu bus belonging to the Nasib Bus company ferrying passengers from Wajir to Nairobi collided with a Mercedes Actross trailer along the Mwingi-Garissa road.
The grisly road accident occured at around 11:30 p.m according to witnesses near Tula area.
A number of people, about ten, are feared dead with others sustaining serious injuries.
The bus is estimated to have left Wajir for the capital Nairobi at around 4 p.m.
The Mwingi-Garissa highway has witnessed a series of grisly road accidents with authorities calling on road users to be more careful.
At the time of writing this article, the authorities had not issued a statement on the accident.
Medical teams were dispatched to the scene of the accident to attend to the casualties.
Over speeding and reckless overtaking have been blamed for the accidents along the Mwingi-Garissa stretch.
It is not clear what caused the accident.
