Candidates sitting for this years national exams have been encouraged to bear in mind that they have the ability to shape their future.
Speaking at Kenyatta High School when sharing breakfast with the 242 candidates sitting for their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), Taita Taveta Deputy Governor Majala Mlagui encouraged the candidates to focus on their exams and pursue their goals.
She told the students to be people of high integrity by ensuring that they do not indulge in practices that can promote immorality especially as they relax during the holiday season following their examinations.
Mlagui who has been a champion against Gender Based Violence, encouraged the youthful citizens to join the movement as male champions by ensuring that women are seen as equals in the human race.
"Any form of Gender Based Violence starts with the lowering of value of a person and especially the girls in our society. I challenge you to not only be your brother's keeper but your sister's keeper as well," she said.
