Uhuru was presiding over the funeral ceremony of Thayu Kamau but walked out immediately the lawmaker who is allied to his deputy William Ruto began his speech.

He later returned after the lawmaker finished his speech, before proceeding to scold him and his colleagues who have been crisscrossing the nation endorsing Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.

He gave the MP a tongue lashing for requesting him to contribute Ksh5 million towards the construction of Gitui Secondary School, telling the MP to settle down and work.

"I hear some people asking for money. Account for the monies that have been allocated in your National Government Constituency Development Funds which are worth Sh100 million instead of loitering the country with endless meetings and unending speeches,” the Head of State was quoted by the Nation.

The same went to Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu who jokingly told the president to go slow on his war on graft, with details indicating that he too was scolded after the function.

This was not the first time Uhuru walked out on Nyoro, after doing a similar thing during the burial of former area MP Kenneth Matiba last year.

Nyoro's closeness to Ruto had made him be seen as a possible point man of the DP as he will be seeking to succeed Uhuru whose second and last term comes to an end in 2022.

He has been endorsing Ruto's bid despite Uhuru's calls for political quiet in the nation, which appears to be angering the Head of State.
