The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a weather update on the areas that will receive heavy rainfall over the weekend.
In a tweet on Friday, the department said that the southern region would receive rainfall over the weekend which would most likely spread to the Central, Eastern and Coastal regions.
"DAILY FORECAST FOR THE NEXT FIVE DAYS. Enhanced rainfall is expected over Southwestern region through the weekend and is likely to spread to Central, Eastern and Coastal region from Sunday, " the meteorological department wrote on Twitter.
Other parts of the country, the government agency said, would undergo spells of sunshine.
Areas that would enjoy sunshine are Mandera, Isiolo, Meru, Lodwar, Garissa and Lokichoggio.
Voi, Narok, Kisii, Namanga, and Nairobi will be pummeled by rainfall according to the forecast.

Over a month ago, scores of people lost their lives in West Pokot county after a spell of heavy rainfall.
The government has been keen to advice those in areas vulnerable to extreme weather events to relocate to safer areas.
