South Nyanza Anglican Church Bishop John Omangi has thrown his weight behind President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga's unity course.
Omangi while speaking on Saturday in Kisii town said the unity between the two leaders has helped in the war against corruption and has fostered peace.
"I want to congratulate Mr Kenyatta and Raila for agreeing to make peace between them. The unity has helped more especially in the graft war. On behalf of the Anglican Church leadership, I wish to assure Uhuru-Raila our support," he said.
The Bishop said church leaders should be on the front line helping Uhuru and Raila to fight corruption which has delayed development in the country.
Omangi also challenged politicians attending fund drives to only donate the money they earn as salaries and not that which they acquire through dubious means.
"Politicians being invited to the attend fundraisers at various churches should not carry stolen money to donate to the church. It is important for politicians to respect the houses of worship," he added.
He also appealed to President Kenyatta to ensure even his close allies and friends who have stolen money are taken to court and money stolen is recovered.
