This comes only a day after the party leader Raila Odinga claimed that he was the whistleblower in the matter while speaking at a funeral ceremony in Kisii on Friday.

Mutura is now questioning the party's changing stands, as Raila's allies initially came out to de-link him from the scandal, saying that he is not involved in any way.

Speaking on Saturday, he also wondered why Raila's allies want the matter to be handled by the relevant investigative bodies, yet Raila on Friday declared Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i innocent after his implication.

"Watu wa ODM wamekuwa wakisema eti hajahusika kwa njia yoyote, ila yeye mwenyewe anasema alikuwa Dubai kwa mambo yaleyale. Pia wamekuwa wakisema mambo haya yawachiwe uchunguzi lakini Raila tayari anasema watu fulani ni wasafi hawakuhusika," Mutua said.

It loosely translates to in English: "ODM has been saying that Raila was not involved, only for him to admit that he was in Dubai over the very same issue. They have said the issue should be left to the investigating agencies but Raila is already saying there are certain people who are clean and were not involved."

He was speaking on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi show on Saturday morning.

He also laughed off Raila's claims that he was a whistleblower, terming it a claim openly being used to cleanse his name.

Mutura also questioned the capacity in which Raila flew to Dubai to address the issue, considering that he is neither an investigator nor an ambassador.

"Anasema yeye ni whistleblower, ameandikisha statement wapi na alienda Dubai kama kachero ama nani (He says he is a whistlemvlow, where did he record a statement and did he travel to Dubai as a detective or who?" posed the ex-Makadara MP.
