Kisii County Governor James Ongwae says the region is ideal to set up businesses.

He said investors are free to invest in Kisii County in the areas of waste recycling, manufacture of animal feed, packaging and branding coffee, integrated fruit processing among others.

"Local and foreign investors are welcome to Kisii County to invest because we have a conducive business environment, tight security and a peace loving host community," he said. 

The ODM allied governor assured that his government is committed to ensure traders operate their businesses 24 hours by lighting up major shopping centers across the county. 

"My administration is working hard to ensure there are proper lights across all shopping centers in the county so that traders can run businesses on 24 hours basis," noted the governor.

Mr. Ongwae further said county reinforcement officers should not harass foreign and local traders especially when collecting taxes. 

The county boss urged traders to report any harassment to authorities for legal actions to be taken. 

"We have police officers who should arrest anyone harassing traders at the various markets in the county to ensure the businesses run smoothly," he added. 

He was speaking when he represented the Council of Governors at the 11thAnnual East Africa Chamber of Commerce Conference in Dallas, USA on Friday.
