A Nakuru building that gave rise to an estate has been brought down bringing to an end a landmark for many.
White House building, built in the 1990s, has been an iconic building along the Nakuru-Subukia Road.
The building was set up by a Kenyan who had lived in the US for many years.
When came back to his home in Nakuru, he decided to relive the memories by putting up the building.
He decorated it with colours of Washington DC’s White House and even erected American flags on it.
The building gave rise to the White House estate which has now become an estate for the middle class with a taste for life’s finesse things.
The building is now dead after the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) said it was erected on a road reserve.
It was demolished but its child (the estate) will live to tell its story.
