Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama is on spot following water shortage which has hit the county.
Locals claimed that the county boss is busy embezzling public funds instead of drilling boreholes to increase water supply.
"We are currently buying a 20 liters jerrycan of water in Nyamira at a cost of Sh30. It is shameful for Governor Nyagarama who is busy stealing public funds with some cartels with an aim of enriching themselves," said a furious local Timothy Nyang'wara.
Ezra Nyakundi said Nyamira is in sad state of affairs adding that Governor Nyagarama is not interested in fulfilling his campaign pledges.
"The fruits of devolution won't be enjoyed in Nyamira with the current leadership. How can water cost Sh30 while the county leadership is doing nothing to improve the situation? It is high time Nyamira locals to take to the streets to protest the rogue leadership," said Nyakundi.
Philip Jomo challenged governor Nyagarama to move with speed and increase water sources across the county.
"Nyagarama's administration should drill more boreholes to help us get more water. The money being stolen by selfish individuals should be used to drill boreholes," noted Mr Jomo.
